First of all, I hope you, your colleagues, friends and family are safe and well in these most challenging of times.

In recent weeks, I have been filled with admiration for the resilience everyone has shown in all aspects of their lives. The pandemic, and the social and economic strains it has triggered, has demonstrated how quickly all of us can change our approach to protect our society and critical business functions, while – most crucially – enabling the prioritisation of the health and safety of those around us.

From Cobham SATCOM’s perspective, proactive early intervention included changes to working practices and mobilisation of our strong supplier and partner network, which has enabled us to continue working safely during these unprecedented times. This includes the continued delivery of the world’s most trusted communication solution brands, including our EXPLORER, SAILOR, Sea Tel and TRACKER ranges. I am particularly excited to see new product releases such as the EXPLORER 323, the EXPLORER 6000 series and the new SAILOR 900 VSAT Ku Optimised solution starting to ship. Alongside these releases, we have been overwhelmed by the participation in the various on-line events Cobham has introduced during this period.  I would like to extend my sincerest personal thanks to all our employees, customers and partners for everything you have done, and continue to do, to make us jointly successful.

As we begin to see adjustments to quarantine and social distancing, Cobham SATCOM continues to monitor the situation closely, following advice from the World Health Organisation and applicable governments. We remain very aware of the severe impact COVID-19 continues to have in some customer regions. Our team is working diligently to closely track this ongoing and very fluid situation, with assistance and insight from our global network. I would like to reiterate that Cobham SATCOM remains agile and financially robust. We are ready to respond to new developments as they arise, using an approach that honours our commitment to health and safety, and connecting the world.

I’m sure you’ll agree that we live in a time when communication has never been more important. The outbreak of COVID-19 has seen new partnerships, conversations and fast-paced innovation happening on the scale never seen before, often facilitated in a virtual arena.
